Ilona Korstina was born on May 30, 1980 in Leningrad. She is a Russian basketball forward, who competed for her native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics, winning two bronze medals. She plays for CSKA Moscow. Since early childhood Ilona Korstina was engaged in swimming, running and gymnastics, as well as performing in competitions in athletics and tennis.

Ilona is a numerous champion and winner of many international competitions in the women national team of Russia on basketball. In 2006, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has officially awarded Ilona Korstina as a “Face of Women Basketball World”.

Mother of Ilona Korstina is a French citizen. Her father, Kalju Korstin known in the basketball as a coach at the medium physical training. Ilona graduated from school in St. Petersburg. In France she studied management in college.
