Lena Katina (full name is Elena but she is known under the shorter of her name, Lena) was born October 4 298 in the family of a Russian pop music author. She joined children’s ensemble at age 9. At age 12 she joined Neposedy, a very popular children’s band in Russia at that time) where she met Yuliya Volkova. T.A.T.U. was created in 1999 and Lena was first to join it, being chosen out of 400 girls. After world-wide popularity the band T.A.T.U. disbanded in 2011 and Lena is pursuing her solo career. She records her album and lives in Los Angeles.

Lena Katina as part of T.A.T.U. band recorded 6 studio albums and toured the world. Their band was by far the only Russian pop band that became known and acquired fan base all over the world.

After the band T.A.T.U. seized to exist, both singers started building their own solo careers. Julia Vovlokova criticized Lena Katina for using original T.A.T.U. songs to promote herself.
