Ludmila Putina was born Ludmila Shkrebneva on January 6 1958 in Kaliningrad. Before she graduated from the Leningrad University with the degree in Philology and Spanish language in 1986, Ludmila worked as a welder, nurse in a hospital, preschool music teacher and a flight attendant. She married Vladimir Putin in 1983 and they have had two daughters.

Ludmila is an honored citizen of Kaliningrad and Honored Professor of Eurasia University in Kazakhstan. Has other awards and recognitions for her efforts in education and for maintaining and preserving the Russian language.

Ludmila Putina is a curator and a suporter of a fund aimed to develop Russian Language and education. She also speaks German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. After 2008 she has been rarely seen in public with her husband which speculated the rumors about their possuble split.
