Natalie Wood was born Natalia Zakharenko, July 20 1938 – November 29 1981, in San Francisco to Russian immigrant parents. Her parents emigrated from Vladivostok to Montreal, Quebec and later to San Francisco. She made her film debut at age 5. After her second role at 7 years old she signed to a role that became her major role, in the “Miracle on the 34th Street”. She was married three times, two of them to the same man, actor Robert Wagner. She had 2 children from both husbands. She died at age 43 as a result of accidental drowning.

Natalie’s father changed their family name from Zakharenko to Gurdin, and Natalie was often called Natasha. Her name was once again changed to Natalie Wood by Hollywood, but she never really cared for it. Among other famous people she dated was Elvis Presley.
