Tamara Gverdtsiteli was born January 18 1962 to Ukrainian mother and Georgian father. She started learning music at a young age and was part of a children’s ensemble Mziuri. She then entered and graduated from Music Academy in Tbilisi. She won her first award at age 19 and started to gain popularity and recognition after that. She cooperated with French composer Michele Legran, which made her popular in France and abroad. She has been married three times and has a son.
Did You Know?
In 1989 she was named a Distinguished Artist of Georgian SSR and in 2004 she was given a title People’s Artist of Russia. She is known to have received an immense number of awards, titles and recognitions for her vocals.
